Weapons & Equip - Laser Sight, ranger aiming tech ! (2024)

I played this mod called "Homeward journey" a while back (would recommend), which added a little laser sight accessory and WOW it was great to use, simply gives you a straight and accurate line of where your gun is shooting... and i'm here to recommend a little accessory line for it!

Laser sight: crafted with 5 ruby gemsparks and 20 glass.

Effect: gives you a laser sight which is a straight line from where your gun would fire to the end of the screen from that direction + either hidden or outright said in the description, reduces recoil by 10%

Stalker Quiver: in addition of making you harder to target, laser sight is now forced into this accessory, giving you some better aim and 10% shotgun spread reduction!.

Rifle Quiver: with a rifle scope you can now make the rifle quiver, a third upgrade to the stalker quiver which grants you the effects of the rifle scope, exteneding the reach of the laser and in addition the recoil reduction is upped to 15%

as someone with not that great of aim it actually helped a lot and especially in multiplayer where the boss was usually off screen, instead of shooting in its "general direction" the laser point helped a bit on shooting exactly where the boss would be (with shooting at the boss cursor directly without having to move my cursor much)

I suggest it should be a bit different. Instead of stalker quiver, it should upgrade into laser quiver which, while holding a bow with it equiped, it shows a laser of what the bow's arc would be. Guns are already easy to aim, and this would make bows easier to aim aswell. For the rifle quiver, it should be changed to the hunting scope, which lets you also use the zoom with bows, aswell as slightly decreasing arc

i wanted to empower the quivers as they're pretty weak right now... although making it upgrade into the stalker quiver would make the upgrade corruption only... however we have hero shield which is really good so i think it's only fair.
i feel like you're overall closer with bows than you are with guns which makes them not require much of aim improvement unless you're going far and bows have all around more usage than guns for ranger so there's no need to make them specifically stronger.

also editing the suggestion, i think the 10% recoil should also come with 10% reduced shotgun spread... maybe in stalker quiver because that's quite strong for a pre boss accessory.

edit : this accessory is slightly multiplayer oriented, it allows you to easily aim on bosses or know how well you are at tracking bosses especially when theyr'e following another player (which is likely with stalker's quiver)

The thing is guns have no arc so where you aim is where they go. Bows have arc which makes them harder to aim.

You say that it is multiplayer oriented but there really isnt much need for a laser sight since you still cant see off screen. Just use the map overlay or whatever and align your cursor with the boss icon. The thing with bows though is, again, thier arc makes it very hard to hit anything off screen. Bows need something to help aim with the arc.

Also, if the accessory isn't affecting arrows, it shouldn't be a quiver. Quivers are used to hold arrows, not bullets. Also you say the quivers need a buff but I dont think they do. They have thier place as an accessory that increases arrow speed and damage, and that"s perfectly fine.
